Tamala Malone, Director

Hi, I'm Tamala Malone, founder of Tree of Life Childcare, and for the next few years I'll be preparing your little one for a lifetime of learning.

 

I'm a licensed daycare provider and I've been teaching and nurturing children for 11 years. I'm certified in CPR, First Aid and I am authorized to care for children with special needs. 

I'm honored that you and so many other parents entrust your children to Tree of Life. I look forward to adding your child to our family tree.

Childcare Teacher

Full-Time, 32 hours/week

Report to

Center Director

Shift

6 am – 7 pm (hours will vary during regular business hours)

Responsibilities

  • Design and follow a full schedule of activities and discover suitable teaching material

  • Balance your teaching between logical and social exercises

  • Provide basic care and caregiving activities

  • Use a wide range of teaching methods (stories, media, indoor or outdoor games, drawing etc) to enhance the child’s abilities

  • Evaluate children’s performance to make sure they are on the right learning track

  • Remain in constant communication with parents and update them on the progress of their children

  • Observe children’s interactions and promote the spirit of concord

  • Identify behavioral problems and determine the right course of action

  • Collaborate with other colleagues

  • Adhere with teaching standards and safety regulations as established by the official sources

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a childcare / daycare teacher

  • Excellent knowledge of child development and up-to-date education methods

  • Methodical and creative

  • Patience, flexibility and love for children

  • Strong communication and time management skills

  • Certificate in first aid and CPR

  • Degree in early childhood education

Teacher's Assistant

Part Time

CHILDCARE TEACHER'S ASSISTANT

Part-Time, 20 hours/week

Report to

Center Director, Childcare Teacher

Shift

6 am – 7 pm (hours will vary during regular business hours)

Responsibilities

  • Assist teachers with monitoring child activity at all times.

  • Be familiar with the disciplinary and safety procedures for the Center

  • Perform duties for teachers like copying, printing, computer work, preparing bulletin board displays, equipment, demonstrations, and other general office duties

  • Work with students, parents, and teachers to maintain a safe and healthy environment

  • Deliver direct services to students and/or parents

  • Help teachers prepare and execute lesson plans and activities

  • Maintain class rosters/records

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a childcare / daycare teacher

  • Excellent knowledge of child development and up-to-date education methods

  • Methodical and creative

  • Patience, flexibility and love for children
